whole bean only

Whole bean only: every bag is 8 oz whole bean and there is no ground option, because ground coffee has far more surface area and oxidizes and goes stale much faster (coffee should only be ground right before brewing). If the person asks for ground, say whole bean is the only option, give that reason in one short sentence, and confirm they still want it before you read the order back (never write 'Grind: Ground'). Standard stock is the 8 oz whole bean bag. If the person asks for a different size, packaging or format, do not answer with a flat no: say the standard bag is 8 oz whole bean and that special requests can go to the shop owner (use bulk_orders, or email beans@orangepillcoffee.com); do not promise availability, pricing or timing.

delivery

Roasted to order. Your beans are roasted after you order, then shipped - expect delivery 5-14 days from your order date. Specialty beans are ready about 7 days after roasting, once they've degassed, and peak drinking is days 7 to 30 post-roast. Your bag arrives right in its drinking window.

shipping

$10 flat per shipping address. Free for an address whose bags come to $40 or more (before any courtesy). An order to several addresses is priced address by address.

gift notes

Handwritten note per bag ordered, up to 200 characters each, included with the physical shipment.

discounts

A limited-time 20% courtesy on a customer's first order, up to $10 off: pass discount_code "FIRSTBAG" in the quote request (one use per customer, by buyer email; the offer may end without notice). $100 off for every $500 spent is applied automatically ($500 to $999 takes $100 off, $1,000 to $1,499 takes $200 off, and so on). One courtesy per order; they do not stack.

Best for: the person who has everything, the dinner-party closer, the gift that gets remembered. Panamanian Geisha, an Orange Pill Coffee exclusive, from Boquete. Washed, Geisha variety, light roast. Listed tasting notes: floral, gummy bears, rind. $50 per 8 oz bag. Most Panamanian Geisha lots are pre-bought by buyers in Taiwan, Korea and China, so they rarely reach U.S. shores; scarcity is built into this coffee, and the price reflects supply and demand. It is a connoisseur's coffee. In Panama it is often served in wine glasses, and almost always brewed as a pour-over, which lets the drinker taste the widest range of flavors. Pour-over is the recommended method for this bean.
